(CNN) – Welcome to CNN Radio News Day.

  • Peace came to Europe Monday in the form of the Nobel Peace Prize.  The Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the 8 million kronor ($1.2 million) prize to the European Union in October for what it called more than "six decades contributed to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe. European Council President Herman Van Rompuy, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and European Parliament President Martin Schulz traveled to Norway to accept the award, in a ceremony at the ornate City Hall in Oslo, Norway.  European Council president  Van Rompuy says this honor is about more than peace-building:
